KRS-ONE & BUCKSHOT unveil the first song off their highly anticipated album “SURVIVAL SKILLS” in stores August 25th on Duck Down Records.
ROBOT, produced by Havoc of Mobb Deep, is a hard-hitting track that showcases KRS-ONE & BUCKSHOT in true form, highlighting the current auto-tune trend in Hip-Hop and exposing the copy-cat mentality that has rappers hiding behind “the program.” Stepping outside the factory that Hip Hop has become, the duo lead the charge in the battle for originality.
The video for ROBOT is being filmed this week by Todd Angkasuwan in Brooklyn, New York with BET providing exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage.
“Survival Skills” has confirmed features from Mary J Blige, Slug, of Atmosphere, Immortal Technique, K’NAAN, Talib Kweli, Sean Price, Naledge of Kidz In The Hall, Smif N Wessun, Rock of Heltah Skeltah and Geo of Blue Scholars.

Production on the album includes tracks from Havoc, of Mobb Deep, 9th Wonder, Black Milk, Marco Polo, Moss, Coptic, KHRYSIS! and Ill Mind

Blackmoon didn’t gain as much critical hype as other acts in the independent rap scene (perhaps due to a laid-back release schedule), but Black Moon has been one of its better acts. Buckshot, 5Ft, and DJ Evil Dee debuted in 1993 with Enta da Stage, an excellent album with plenty of old-school vibes on singles like “How Many Emcees” and “Who Got the Props.” The remix album Diggin’ in dah Vaults followed in 1996, and second album War Zone finally dropped on Priority in early 1999. Third LP Total Eclipse appeared in 2003 on Duck Down.

Black Moon (Brothers who Lyrically Act and Combine Kickin Music Out On Nations) debuted in 1992, with the release of the single “Who Got Da Props?”. The song became something of an underground phenomenon, and charted on the Billboard Hot 100. With the help of DJ Chuck Chillout, the group landed a record deal with Nervous Records for the release of their debut album Enta Da Stage, released in late 1993. The album included “Who Got Da Props?”, as well as the singles “How Many MC’s…”, “Buck Em Down”, and another Hot 100 hit, “I Got Cha Opin (Remix)”. The album went on to sell over 350,000 copies in the U.S., and is now regarded as an underground hip hop classic. Following the album’s release, the group temporarily broke up.

WALKS OUT OF THE FRONT DOOR DOING THE MACARENA!

New York-NY- October 2nd-2008:

After spending 8 days hospitalized in intensive care, the legendary MC, Buckshot, has been released from the hospital, and is now resting at his home in Brooklyn, NY. Upon returning from a 3 week European Tour last week, the Black Moon and Boot Camp Clik frontman suffered a series of seizures. While it’s still unclear what caused the seizures, Doctors believe that Buckshot was physically drained and became severely dehydrated to the extent that caused his body to shut down and suffer 9 seizures in less than 1 day.

Buckshot was in good spirits today as he left the hospital, and is looking forward to his next endeavors as he prepares to finish his group project with KRS-ONE, begin work on his third album with super-producer 9th Wonder, as well as a 4th studio album from BLACK MOON (DJ EVIL DEE and 5FT).

In a statement this morning, Buckshot said “I want to thank all the fans who called and wrote emails extending their well wishes and prayers. All the support helped me recover that much quicker.”

In true Buckshot fashion, he left the hospital dancing. With his health returning and with the release of Heltah Skeltah’s “D.I.R.T.” album and DJ Revolution’s “KING OF THE DECKS” album; both in stores this week on Duck Down Records he’s got good reason to celebrate.

Reporters caught him outside the hospital with the Duck Down Man moments after leaving the Hospital….
